Suiseki Viewing Stone - Funny Man

Suiseki River Stone / Viewing Stone. Also known as Scholars Stones or Gongshi.
This stone resembles a man and with the daiza it is a portrait of a Funny Man.

Suiseki make beautiful ornaments for the home or workplace. They are an excellent accompaniment to bonsai but are equally beautiful and sometimes more striking when displayed on their own. Obviously without any light or watering requirements suiseki are ideal for display in an office or on a display table.

The wooden stand they come with is known as a daiza. They can also be displayed in a shallow tray, or suiban, filled with sand. The stones are not attached to the daiza allowing you to hold the stone or change its position.

Applying a little oil to the stone will improve the contrast between the patterns.
